In the Realm's Library, Dawn was almost always around. Unfortunately this is merely a simulacrum of the actual Library, and Dawn has a real life that took her away from it. So she did her best to provide the information you might need here. If there's anything you still need help with, drop Lady Dementia a line here.

Info On Fanfics

The Librarian coded some 800-odd fics before finally calling it quits. Lady Dementia has kept the site as it is instead of abandoning it because some of these fics don't exist elsewhere on the Internet. People should have a chance to read them.

However, the site is no longer accepting new fanfics.

Info On Images

The same as above, and the site isn't accepting new images.

A Brief History of The Realm

Somewhere between the reality humans see and the computerized Internet, there exists "a subreality; not really a different dimension. It's only a corner of the Internet that is...more real than just data." So said the computer who first opened the way through; and hers is the only explanation we have.

We don't really care, though. However they managed it, it obviously works. Because within this subreality, in the damp mist and the muted surroundings, fanfic authors and characters both are present.

Why exactly the computers presented Lady Dementia with the place, we aren't sure either. It seems to have something to do with the evil supercomputer whose plans she is foiling, or at least slowing. But that's a long story and it's told elsewhere on the site.

In this half-computerized world, Lady Dementia established a restaurant/bar. Naturally enough, she called it The Realm of Insanity. The Realm enjoyed enormous popularity with characters, but authors were a little more scarce. Eventually, due to the enormous numbers of customers, The Realm began to expand. Dawn, a recent arrival in The Realm, volunteered for the job of Librarian of the Realm, and, much to her joy, was accepted. Her sister Star, too, volunteered and was put in charge of the Art Gallery.

But you don't get many fanfics if not many authors know where you are. So, with the help of a friendly computer or two, Dawn began to put the contents of the Library into an online archive that could be read as a web page. At first it was intended to have an equivalent to the entire Realm, but there were several setbacks and that idea was discarded.

However, the online archive continued onward until reality finally defeated Dawn. Lady Dementia kept it online because Dawn put so much work into it, and it's still an archive of past fics.

And though it is not the true Realm, it is to be hoped that at least a few of the visitors who come here will find their way into the Realm. The Realm's Library may have reached its ending point, but it was only an online version of "a subreality; not really a different dimension. It's only a corner of the Internet that is...more real than just data."

So go see the fanfics and pictures. Read and look at old friends and good memories among the stacks. And maybe you'll enter The Realm of Insanity...

A Few More Questions for Dawn

I don't understand who does what around here.

You must be pretty new then. I (Dawn) kept the Library in order, coded fics, uploaded things, and generally took care of the online archives of the Library. Star took care of the Art Gallery. Lady Dementia owns the Realm and usually tends bar.

How come there's no counter anywhere?

Because it'd either make me depressed with how few hits it registers, or make me suspicious with too many. Counters don't tend to work too well for me. Besides, I couldn't find anywhere to put one.

What if I have more questions?

That would be why my e-mail address is posted all over the site. Use it. Maybe I'll even put your question up here. [Lady Dementia's Note: Um, well, not anymore. Please don't bother her with e-mails.]
